Online Lead Generations, Do they Work?

DO ONLINE LEAD GENERATORS WORK?

Many real estate professionals view online lead generation services as a way to capitalize on the quick communication offered by the Internet, but some say online leads are low quality and cost too much. Subsequently, they’re revamping internal systems to better manage leads. “We can drive a lot of traffic to and from our Web site,” says Arthur Sterbcow of Latter & Blum in New Orleans, “but it’s the quality of the traffic that’s the key.” Weichert Lead Network handles customer inquiries through an in-house call center, where the leads are “scrubbed” – those more likely to result in a sale are passed on to associates. Intero Real Estate Vice President for Marketing Derek Overby says that associates are once again turning to cold calls and door-to-door marketing. “The Internet brought great advantages to the industry, but it’s not taken agents out of the mix,” he says. However, lead generation firms say they provide a valuable service to real estate professionals, insisting that agents have not adequately responded to the leads they provide.
