EVERYONE LOVES A PARADE
 
As the mortgage crisis lingers, PARADE Magazine published a special section in its May 4 edition to help readers find out how to make the real estate market work to their advantage. PARADE, carried by nearly 400 U.S. Sunday newspapers and read by 71 million Americans every week, included the article as part of its "Where America Lives" feature, which polled readers to "find the truth about how Americans feel about where we live." Twenty-six percent of those polled say their dream home would be on the beach (Florida Realtors can help with this one!); two-thirds know their neighbors or consider some good friends; and 72 percent say they've never had a conflict with a neighbor. Having family nearby is the best neighborhood feature (26 percent), followed by an easy commute and convenient shopping (20 percent each). The most important factor about respondents' homes is the comfort (47 percent), followed by cleanliness and safety (22 percent).
