FIVE TIPS FOR WEBSITE SUCCESS

Realtors will see more results from their Web site if they target a specific niche market instead of trying to appeal to everyone. After choosing a target market, associates should keep it in mind when designing the site’s appearance and creating attention-grabbing headlines. With content, associates would be wise to write in the second person, using “you” and “your” to give the feel of a one-on-one conversation. It’s also advisable to appeal to the target market’s emotions, such as the fear and excitement of first-time buyers. To avoid scaring away site visitors, there should be a privacy policy in place and forms that do not require them to provide more contact information than they feel comfortable giving. Instant feedback in the form of a “Thank You” page or an e-mail confirmation is also important. Finally, associates should ensure that their sites are easily navigated, offering only a handful of operations on the main page and forcing visitors to make no more than three mouse clicks from the home page to access content.
