IN SEARCH OF OLDER ADULT HOUSING

The National Association of Realtors' Seniors Real Estate Specialists (SRES) program has teamed up with SNAPforSeniors to provide a database for the 16,000 Realtors with the SRES designation that can be used to locate appropriate housing for their senior clients in any location. Using the Web site, Realtors can search for housing based on the client's diet, desired lifestyle amenities, care needs, particular health conditions, and other criteria. According to Arcadia, Calif.-based SRES designated Realtor Gene Glasco, "By and large, there is not a lot of 'buying' involved when dealing with senior housing. It's about being able to counsel the client through every facet of the process; it's a distinguishing factor to go beyond just helping them sell their house, and be able to facilitate confident and informed decision making regarding senior housing."
